Did you know it’s possible to include a PayPal “Donate Now” button in an email? Here’s how to do it.
First, make sure that your PayPal account is configured as shown in our User Guide.
Now, login to PayPal and click on the Merchant Services tab.
Now you need to customize your button:
- From the “button type” menu, choose “Donations”.
- Enter the name of your Donor Tools fund in the “Organization name/service” field.
- Set any other options you want, and then click “Create Button”.
The next screen will show your PayPal button code. The first tab is for embedding on a web page. It may or may not work to paste this into an email (email clients generally don’t like <form> tags). Click on the “Email” tab to reveal the email embed code.
The code provided is actually just a link to your PayPal page. You can now embed an image (such as the one below) into your email, and then link it to that web address above. Each email tool does this a little differently, so that part is left as an exercise for the reader .
